A rare find
This is an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and accelerate your development in audio.
This programme is intended for aspiring audio professionals who have already developed a foundation in recording, production, editing or mixing through education, independent learning or practical experience. It is not an introductory course, and applicants should be able to demonstrate both their commitment to audio and the work they have already undertaken.
You will be working in a professional studio environment and may have contact with commercial clients, so good communication, teamwork, reliability and professional conduct are essential.
How selection works
You will be asked to complete an application form, after which selected candidates will be invited for an interview. We operate a fair and inclusive selection process and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including disabled and neurodivergent applicants. Selection will be based on relevant experience, commitment, potential and readiness to benefit from professional studio training.
Successful applicants will be offered practical training covering areas such as recording, editing and post-production. Some participants may also have the opportunity to observe or assist with an overdub or mixing session alongside a professional engineer.
Sessions will be arranged around suitable commercial bookings so that participants encounter genuine studio work, clients and professional expectations. The precise sessions available will therefore vary.
Please note that sessions are allocated in line with our commercial bookings, and we cannot guarantee access to all the sessions. We will do our best!
Progression and professional placements
Participation in the training programme does not guarantee a placement or employment. Further opportunities may be offered only to participants who demonstrate the appropriate technical ability, reliability and professional conduct throughout the programme.
As placements may involve commercial sessions and direct contact with clients, participants must communicate respectfully, work constructively as part of a team, accept direction and maintain appropriate professional boundaries. Anyone whose conduct could disrupt a session or adversely affect clients, artists, staff or other participants will not be considered for progression into a professional placement.
We are committed to providing reasonable adjustments and supporting individual access needs. However, the professional standards required within live commercial sessions will apply equally to everyone, with appropriate support.
